  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
41' CONVERTBLE-Series I (1964 - 1971)
Its Jan 27th in Tampa. I am chartering "the Birdhouse" for the event. Any other owners brave enough to fight the pirates? Lets see if we can make it another rondevous or at least a meet for a dozen drinks kind of event

Damm I just got a PM about this and just asked the date. I will just be getting back from Hawaii

As a Gasparilla Pirate, I request that you fight us with topless women on the bows of your boats.

More seriously, as a member of Ye Mystic Krewe of Gasparilla, I can purchase any kind of VIP seating and accomodations anyone wants. I don't have any pull to get boat accomodations downtown for the parade though. It is possible to anchor off of Bayshore about 100 yards in ten foot water where Bayshore intersects with Rome Ave. It is an easy dinghy ride to steps leading up to the parade route.

It's a great event and anyone with questions about it feel free to contact me.

Bruce
Freestyle
1976 DCMY
Tampa

Are we allowed to attack the pirate ships?

Ok is there a good spot to anchor and watch the flotilla?

I think to anchor and watch the invasion would lead to certain death. See overhead picture from the link below. You basically have to cruise with the Flotilla like a salmon in the stream. Fend off against the idiots who aren't paying attention or worse heading against the stream.

It is a unique and amazing spectacle combining boats, beads, boobs, and guns.

If you went to a city and proposed having a boat invasion of about 300 boats, followed by a parade of a bunch of rich guys in disguise drinking, firing guns and trading beads for bachnalia, I think they would laugh you out of town

I usually get suckered into running a clumsy 61 MY for Gasparilla. You need nerves of steel and a lot of luck! It is mayhem! A lot of drunks who have no clue as to how to run a boat. It is great fun if you are a passenger,no fun for the captain.

I'm sure we can navigate the traffic in the vessel. What type of projectiles are approved for the flotilla.

Okay guys, I guess I can go out on a limb here and add to this conversation. Sounds like Bruce has the lowdown on the details. Can somebody confirm the date(s) and route of this event?

I'm sure I can make it as my rebuild on my 58 should be completed by then. If not, I can certainly do a single engine run to Tampa. I may even have a "little" surprise for ya'll in the way of a 70CMY which needs a proper introduction to such FL events as this! We'll see, one boat or another, I will be there! I already have enough "volunteers" to fill either boat, but there will be plenty of available floor space for more adventurous types!

We should make this a mini CDR for member Hatt owners. There are plenty of anchorages in the area as I'm sure transient marina slips will be at a premium around Tampa/St Pete. For that matter, I believe we could all fit into my marina at Riviera Dunes which is just south of Tampa bay. There are lots of open slips. It's a couple of miles up the Manatee River and somewhat off the beaten path. Let me know if any of you are interested in that. Maybe I can get them to make us a group deal. Otherwise, we can all raft up/anchor someplace and dinghy into the parade, restaurants, bars, etc. I think we can honestly expect to see more member Hatts at this event than there were at the CDR due to the logistics. I can think of 5 or 6 members who should be able to bring their boats. As always, the more the merrier!

Now, is this what owning a Hatt is all about or what? :D

I call SHOTGUN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Steve has 2 jetskis to pull the bird if the engine aint done.

Anyone else you know have a jetski?

That might just not be a bad idea. Little "tweetie" jet tugs to move the 'bird around!

Okay you got shotgun, I've got AR-15 and one heck of a water cannon for them pirates!

Be there or be here...ya'll hear?

Ive got two low hour 'skis for the roof, but I really want a dinghy instead. Also need a hoist for same--hint hint. ws

Its good to have you back on the site.

You're about as subtle as a community bed pan! Load your dinghy and head to Gassedparilla. I'll make sure to provide accomodations at least on par with those of Hatt Trick! Oh yeah, if you're going to be a few hours late, I'll wait for you--hint hint! :D

I'm just here for a little visit. I just couldn't let ya'll handle this thread alone.

I'm headed back to the secret underground laboratory, somethin' is burnin' and it might be me!

PM me with the particulars!! If I am not out in Charleston making new subs, I may come a knockin' !! Is that oil burner done yet? I can bring my BFH and BFWs. ws

Damn, another CDR-like event? Two in 3 or 4 mos? That's way over my bag limit, but let me check the calendar for this one!

Weez about to have a ho down... another CDR we gotts to have a cool catchy name for this thing Hattarilla Roundezvouse???

see you at Hattarilla :D

Mario you want to bring the kids and have the wives hangout we got an extra cabin... Daylin says hi to your wife...

Hey Bubbamigo, you need to keep the GuzCruzer at least until Gasparilla.

Come on guys, I know there are several Hatt owners along the west coast within a few hours of this event.

Jump on here and let's get this thing put together. We only have a few weeks till G Day.

What are you waiting for? This has to be a hoot and a half!

Sorry to double clutch, but I didn't see the link you listed.

That may just be the ticket if nobody is interested in playing bumper Hatts in the parade.

$50 for a ticket and a Cuban sandwich. Sounds like you may have some competition there Carl. Wonder how big those sandwiches are?

That ship sure is tall.. I don't think my wife wants to go unless I get her some company so it may end up being a guy/fishing trip.. either way it looks like it's going to be alot of fun and I may have some room ..waiting on a reply...
