Is there any reason to use RAZ Marine over just sending my pumps back to Galley Maid for a rebuild? One pump leaks and the other just hums. I don't really want to rebuild them myself but I would if I thought I could be successful doing it. What are your experiences?
Thanks,

Go to YouTube. They show a brief way to rebuild. They are really easy once you do it a few times. Take them out and do it on a work bench will be much easier. The humming could be something with the electric motor. You can call Raz they are very happy to help.

You can also send to Depco Pump for rebuild. There is not much to it if your pumps are at least in fair shape.

Old Mike and young Mike at RAZ are very helpful and appreciate the support they get from the Sam’s folks. Not sure how their price compares to others but that would be my first stop.

I spoke with Mike (must be young Mike) at RAZ today. He was very patient and helpful. He's sending me a rebuild kit for the pump that's leaking. Verdict is still out on the pump that's humming. I ran out of nitrile gloves so it will have to wait until tomorrow...

Quick question on the motor that is humming. Has it tripped the circuit breaker?

No, it never tripped the breaker.

If the breaker trips it’s a clear sign there is a clog in the exit hose. It’s an indication that the water is not flowing freely and it will seize the electric motor and trip the breaker. I thought the humming might be caused by you’re solenoid. Just remember when you were doing the small side of the galley made make sure you do not over tighten it. You will pitch the stater and it will leak.

Thank you for the insight.
