So the dog supervised? Like mine, though mine usually end up sleeping and request to keep the noise to a minimum.

Status update...

I have most of the main counters framed in, and finished much of the toe kick last night although I didn't take pictures yet. The port hull is insulated fully, framed and covered. Forward new cupboard is 1.5x bigger and now faced with mahogany. We settled on quartz for the countertop but it'll be a few weeks before that arrives giving me enough time to finish the cabinets and get the floor in. Slow bet steady progress. 20150725_111746.webp20150727_054932.webp20150727_054942.webp

Looking good, Ryan.

Keep the pictures coming!

We picked out our countertop today and finalized our lighting selection. The Ceaserstone Quartz - Raven rose to the top of our list. http://www.caesarstoneus.com/en/The-Catalog/Pages/4120 Raven.aspx

While I haven't determined the mounting method or new headliner material yet, we've ordered the LunaSea 5W LED recessed lights. http://www.lunasealighting.com/prod...-led-with-polished-or-white-trim/led-fixtures

Anyone have suggestions on solid non-perforated headliner materials?

Flooring is next. Solid bamboo is likely but still waffling on color and brand.

I am not sure if SAMs sells the non-perforated one, but they would be my first stop just to support the site.

If you need to go elsewhere, Sailrite also sells headliner:

Well... I'm nearing completion of the galley. I worked on it through November last year and then had to take 5 months off for personal reasons. However, I've resumed in earnest with lots of pictures to post which I'll start uploading over the next few days.

I finished the first iteration of the main floor hatch today complete with automation.

Now that I have the mechanics figured out, I'll build the permanent mounts for the jack screw.

Cheers,
Ryan

Nice. Do you have a way to open it if there's no power or the ram fails?

There are two hatches in my galley. If something goes wrong I can get to the battery/genset room via the hatch under the galley table. I haven't finished raising the that hatch yet to match the elevated benches/table but you get the idea.

I am digging that hatch action! What power/model/travel/source is that jack screw?

It's a 18" 200lb 12VDC linear actuator. You can get them on eBay for $50-200 depending on quality and source; I think I paid around $100 for mine. Presently we built a simple H bridge with a toggle switch and push button to control the direction manually; there are internal limit switches in the actuator to prevent over-driving the motor. Next up is a simple momentary toggle switch to instruct it to open/close; likely with proximity sensors as the limit switches. Heck, might even add it as an app on my phone. :D

Cheers,
Ryan

Few pictures of the new ceiling work in progress. I haven't done the molding yet... that'll be last.

Make sure you don't box the W/D in!

Re-plumbing the boat with PEX as I'm hitting each area. Thus far, everything forward of the engine rooms is now PEX. I'm finding it easy to work with but the nuances of valves and hose attachments isn't as clean as copper... at least not with the parts available at Fisheries Supply in Seattle.

Almost did that! I'm refacing the entire closet area and will make it accessible by removing the face and a few screws on the framing.

Do I see shutoffs on the water supply? Is that what those black T looking things are?

Correct, the black T-looking things are the water shutoff.

What is the ceiling material? Will it be painted or varnished?
The ceiling is tongue and groove 1/2" hemlock. Everything else is solid mahogany. Using Monocoat non VOC stain on all the new galley wood. Cheers, Ryan

Finished the floor last week (except for under the table).
