FWD berth bunk lamps

Hello-

The Admiral wants to remove the original lamps (32v) because the bunks are a tight fit and you can hit your head on them, plus they're hot. I can't really argue this one even though I like the original look. Any suggested sources for updated lamps? LED preferably?

LED bulbs for these? Of course, they would still be in the way. But not hot.

Are those original? Mine are totally different on a 1979

Same comment as Rusty, mine is a 1974, we put led bulbs in ours and painted them white but they are 110 volt and different than yours and I am sure ours are OEM. John

on my 1972 58yf they are different than those and mine are 110 volt ac, i repainted them with hammered bronze paint and installed led bulbs. FYI, the outside of the housing with a 40 watt bulb was about 170 degrees, withe the same led it was about 76 degrees. no more burned body parts

Thanks all - I need to re-check the voltage, I assumed they were 32v... Probably not now that I think about it. Maybe I can sell the Admiral with LED bulbs.

Intra makes a wall mounted cabin light with LED bulb that advertises 10 to 30 volts. I plan on trying one. I got new LED fixtures for my step lights that also advertised 10-30 volts, and they work fine on 32. Longevity may be effected, but the work fine. Imtra Venice LED cabin light.

Look for an LED with an input range of 10 to 40 volts

thats what i have in my 1972, they were dented and scratched so i repainted them with hammered bronze paint and put led bulbs in them

Again, thanks everyone. I confirmed my lamps are 120v, not 32v as I assumed. Just goes to show... I've obtained LED bulbs for several fixtures and will at least cool down the fixtures and improve my electrical loads. Not sure if I can cool down the Admiral.
