Furuno NavNet Vx3?

I am about to purchase a new Furuno Radar and I have heard rumors of an all-new NavNet 3 system coming out soon. I have not had any luck researching online, so I thought I'd ask some of our electronics guru's here.

I'd hate to make the big new color radar/plotter purchase and have it outdated within months! I understand that electronics are constantly updated, but usually small updates with occasional big leaps forward in technology. Navnet was the big leap back in 2001, NavNet Vx2 was the small update a few yrs later.

Has anyone heard about NavNet Vx3 at all?

I found in article stating that Navnet VX3 will be coming out this year. It also states the the new NavNet will have a more natural integration. Here is a link to the article. It is about half way down the page.

Thank you for the link, but actually that is the only article that I had found online but it was written back in the spring of 2005. The reference to "next year" meant 2006. I was hoping that there may be something more recent out there that a fellow Hatteras owner may know of.
