I had planned a trip to the Bahamas last spring and due to business issues I was not able to take the trip. My issue is I filled the boat with fuel the prior year....didn't run it much...so the fuel in the fwd tank, mid fwd and mid aft is close to two years old. The aft tank is close to three years old....I know it should have been run out long before it reached this age. Bottom line is I added Valvtect treatment to the fwd tank and aft tank...Det. Diesel said to use Alge X treatment to the diesel so I purchased some of that and added to the fwd mid and aft mid tanks. To mix it in I ran the engines at the dock and switched tanks while running to circulate the fuel. I watched the racors as it ran while switching tanks....mid tanks looked ok..aft tank..the oldest fuel was not as clear but looked better than I expected. The fwd tank fuel is very milky looking....like a weak strawberry shake! I did find that the fill cap on that tank had a broken rubber O ring so water could have entered that tank. While running on that tank the engine didn't run any different than the other fuel. SO the question is what is the best course of action to take...run down the mid tanks enough to hold the fwd tank fuel...then run off the fwwd tank while returning it to the mid tank with newer fuel mixing the two? Have it polished?
I look fwd to any and all advise! The engines are DDEC 12v92s
Thanks
