Some things depreciate, some things don't:
1) rec boats, well we've discussed that.
2) cars, we all know about these.
3) houses- too driven by the location, location, location thing. It stuns me what 500K gets you in Seattle these days. Possibly no garage, maybe no off-street parking.
4) boats that barely depreciate? Comm fishing boats. In 1985, 1.2M would buy the best of Delta's Alaska limit seiners. That very boat is selling for about the same money today after 30 years of being worked. Comm vessels are a business and more driven by replacement cost. The tech was already perfected in 1985. Latest electronics are easily added.
5) Guns. Again the tech perfected long ago.
6) Airbus A380's? Friends don't let friends buy a new one.
