Fresh water pump

When I open the faucets in aft heads the Galley Maid turns off. The fwd head
and galley work normally. Would appreciate any advice on how anyone might
have fixed this problem short of a new pump.
If only fix was a new pump what replacement did you use? My system is
32v

Some times the brushes in the motor don't contact too well ..you can take out the gally maid and have the motor rebuilt if the pump is alright. or it could be the cylinoid byp-a s s*** it and you can check it that way. I sent mine back to Gally Maid and it cost me $800.00 the last one I just pulled I just sent to a local armature rebuild shop and I'll let you know how it goes but I think it will be cheaper

A couple of years ago I ordered a rebuild kit for my Galley Maid pump. There's only one way to rebuild it, you can't do it wrong. The thing never did build up adequate pressure. Phone calls to Galley Maid did discover a worn out pressure tank, but it's replacement made no improvement. Subsequent phone calls and adjustments to the pressure switches also did not help. Eventually the good people at Galley Maid forgot how to return phone calls.

Thanks gawd I have a smaller 12V ship system because a cheap throw away pump from WM solved my problems.

For all I'm concerned Galley can go stick their over priced and over rated hardware.

It sounds more like you have a restriction in the lines going to the aft head or maybe low pressure. What kind of water flow do you have in the aft head? Does it flow then die? The pumps operation is controlled by water back pressure. It sounds like a, if it ain't broke why fix the pump situation. It sounds like the pump is working fine. Is there a filter in between the aft head and the pump? Is the water pressure set correctly. It could be set too low and being so close to the front head you don't realize it. But it sounds more like a dirty filter or a line blockage or a valve not on all the way on or someone stepped on a line and pinched it off some. There is not much else that can be wrong if the front head is working OK.
