  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
43' DOUBLE CABIN (1970 - 1984)
Starboard one is weeping at top appears to be cracked ever slightly - wondering if anybody has ever had this happen.
Port side has stream of water coming out what appears to be a freezeplug hole. assume it can be re-plugged.
What would you use for the insert, is it a copper insert?
the boat is a 1979 43' DC with 671 naturals, in the water on a lake.
I'm wondering if I put a mission on cracked intake with clamps, if it would stay together and stop the weeping/leak.
Any thoughts on that? I'm concerned that the vibration of running, might continue to crack it
down and then have serious problems with water coming in. I also don't know how thick these intakes are...

Intakes appear to be original - 3 point bolt down, thru-hull. Anyone know where to get them, or if Sam's MArine
has them. Looking for anyone that has experience with this happening, or the repairs.

The boat was sitting on 4" of ice on the lake, which never happens in So. MO - think this caused the probems,
along with freezing of bilge water.

Photos would help. This sounds serious- perhaps you should haul the boat pronto before it gets worse, and repair it out of the water.

roger that. just caught it yesterday, nothing gonna get done weekend.

Except for freezing it's rare. Definitely in the pull her now camp. All the thru hulls need a close look.
