Oh yeah....that "road trip" we took after the show. It was so far out there that they actually spoke English. Man, that was so far away....Everglades?

Everglades? LOL

Nope, Davie. Good thing Ed was driving. :D

He drove there, but I drove home. And it seemed so far away, but you gotta remember that when I get in my car, the most I drive is about 5 miles at any one time. So, Davie does seem like a real road trip to me.

I will be going to the show on Saturday - planning to meet friends, Susan and Ray, for an early breakfast and get to the show around opening time. Well, that's the plan, anyway. We'll check in at the drinkin' barge from time to time.

THIS TIME, I'm leaving all credit cards and checkbooks at home!

I wasn't going to hit you up for a round of drinks, I promise! Glad to hear you're coming Ang, see you Saturday morning or thereabouts.

Well that's right since you are buying this year ;)

I've been in Tampa all week for work, I hope to be back by noon friday. If not at least saturday.

Just got off the plane. Where's my limo?

Wheres your bimbo?????

Don't ask me. I 'm stuck in Merritt Island for the weekend.

Actually, Mike's on his way to pick me up. We'll be at the show shortly.

So far, between the CDR AND flibs..... Have no reason to return to S. Florida.....

The admiral asked, how are we going to recognize the other members. Are we all going to have Hatteras apparal on. Any suggestions? Was planning on wearing my White Hatteras cap.
captbuddy

My Hatteras hat is so "worn" that it's part of my engine room garb. Nevertheless, I'll be wearing it, or toting it, but you'll be able to spot me a mile away with my BRIGHT YELLOW Tweety Bird Crocs!

Ang, is Ed still in town for the show?

Well I am sure glad that you had those bright yellow tweety bird crocs on because as I descended the ramp to the face dock I saw you and took a double-take thinking I may have recognized you but then I said to myself naw, that just can't be Angela. I took one more look back and sure enough I saw those yellow crocs on your feet and shouted aloud "Angela" and sure enough it was you! Too much fun! It was great to finally meet you (and Susan and guy friend).

Hope you guys had an excellent time at the show and a very Happy Halloween! :)

Byron, I saw you again in front of the restaurant as you were jumping into a car. I tried to get your attention, but I was a bit disabled...broke my big toe....got crutches now. Nice to meet you and Melissa earlier!

OH NO!!! Was it one of the big cleats on face dock? Those are pretty menacing and they do tend to jump out in front of you. I sure hope you're not in much pain.

Sorry I didn't hear you, I assume you were at the Oasis restaurant? I was pretty disabled too, but from the day's alcohol abuse! BigBill managed to find ther ONLY water taxi that sold Miller Lite, so he called me to come join he and Kim. Melissa and I went for a three hour tour up and down the intercoastal. Talk about FUN! :)

I must say, this show was disappointing from the aspect of looking at older Hatt classics. I'm assuming that in this economy, there's just no reason to bring them to the show given the expense involved.

Maybe there are some around the Pier 66 section, but I never made it down there. Anybody see anything of interest as in older classics?

I sure did! There is an extremely well kept 1987 Hatt 63CPMY that is on the face dock at Pier 66. We went on board and were amazed at how clean and properly updated that this boat is. Gogeous paint, Rebuilt Detroits, recent twin Northern Lights gensets, all new A/C compressors AND air handlers, A/C on aft Deck, updated electronics, etc. The list goes on. It was truly the nicest 63CPMY that I have ever been on and it was a pleasure to see it in the show.

I agree that the expense does keep many of the older Hatt's out of the show It has been years since there has been a good selection fo classic Hatteras entered in the show. Interestingly this particular boat is the personal boat of the owner of a large brokerage that had several large yachts on display so maybe it was somehow easier for him to justify the expense.
