Well about 7:30 pm last night, someone starting beating on the side of the boat. I opened the door and the girl from boat next door yells "FIRE!" I looked at her and she points across the marina, I turned my head and went "SHHEEEEET!" Grabed my camera and off I went!

Fire trucks had been fighting it for awhile before I got there.. At first they were using water to no effect. Then they starting using Foam and they got it out.

Here she is this morning. Nice jet ski! Notice the dock lines didnt burn. There were boats on each sides of her. Two captains just jumped aboard the boats, started them up and moved them just in time.....

Another reason I like to leave the keys in the ignition.

What was the cause of the fire?

What a shame... We were docked next to them at Bimini bay in nov. Had to be rated to patron, notice the lime colored stripe?

This pace is cursed... 2 boat fires and an errant freighter in a year

If the freighter lost an engine, I bet "Capt Bird" was behind the wheel.....

NEVER a good thing when a boat catchs fire........

Pascal Did it damage any other boats . The talk at the marina this morning said there people in the hot tub when the fire started. Hope no was heart. Two years a go we watched a boat burn here at bay side . It took them all night to get it out.

I don't know I m not at mbm, Ned is. The report I saw indicate the owner was aboard with another person. Don't think ther was a hot tub on an 80 footer

Capt Ned,

Was that the same spot where the last one burned on E dock ? Crazy, huh ?

All boats have fire suppression systems in their ER yet most fires are caused by the electrical system. Larger boats often have extensive entertainment systems with amplifiers, repeaters, boosters etc...

Adding a small bottle behind electrical panels, electronic cabinets is very cheap insurance

Huh

Hell I was on a 48' sailboat with a hot tub 80' plenty of room!

I once saw a 60' Ocean Alexander MY that the owner added a cockpit to. He didn't need any extra tankage so they put a hot tub under the sole of the cockpit for added weight. Just lift the hatches and jump in. Maybe Yachtsmanbill should think about doing that.

Would that be "bathing suits optional"? It would fit right in with the VBC creed... LOL ws

Hmmmmm. VBC eh, hmmm. I know what bathing suits optional means, but VBC...Hmmmm:)

VBC...vulgar Boat Club....Wanna join.....
