Finalizing purchase of vintage 71 Hatteras 31' Cruiser

So we within a week of firming up the purchase of 71 Hatteras 31; we looked and looked, nearly bought another Egg Harbor; but every time we inspected; leaking and rot were and issue; we are running into an issue finding an insurer that will write fo this boat; most are saying anything over 50 years old; any advise on where to go? I see a lot of vintage boats on here and the Chris Craft site; they must be insured from somewhere? Pervious owner used Geico/Boat US - the said nothing over 40 years.

You could try Hagerty Marine Insurance, in Traverse City, MI. They might insure that boat.
