That's pretty slick. I like how you can change the assumptions and see how it affects your "spendable income".

Every way I try, I save a SHIZLOAD of money with the fair tax!!! So, WHO am I voting for again???

Hucklebee brags about it, but seeing that he RAISED taxes as governer....hmmmm?

Ron Paul is against all income taxes and says one of his main goals is to eliminate the IRS.

But Ron Paul doesn't have a chance, so that is a non-issue. Huck does have a chance and a good one. You're going to have to quit beating a dead horse and find a viable candidate to get behind.

It's funny. When I was younger I used to vote Libertarian. Then I realized that although it made me feel good to vote for those who best represented my views, I was actually wasting my vote. I had no choice but to vote for the lesser of 2 evils. Unfortunately that is just how our system works. You have to be careful because your vote for a candidate that can't win can actually just help to elect the one that you dislike the most.

let's see - I got taxed when I earned the money, and despite that managed to save some of those after tax $ to enjoy our "golden" retirement years. Now someone wants to change all the rules so we can get taxed again every time we spend any of those savings. Now when when I die, if they can just get a 100% tax on anything I have left, that would be swell too.

Sorry for being so selfish with my hard earned money, and not being kind enough to be a socialist.

Regards, Bob K

P.S. I think the Huckster is just that -- you young folks look it up.

Sky, you said it my friend. I voted for Perot back in the day and look who won! CLINTON! ARGH!!! Krush has a point that you and I are perpetuating the madness by voting for the lesser of two evils but how do you stop it? I don't know, I'm just one vote.

Right on the money Sky! A wasted vote helps the one (or party) you like the least. If you want to protest, write a good letter.

Regards, Bob K

If you want to protest, register for the party you fear the most. When the primary comes vote for the most radical, unelectable wacko running. This will help assure that they will nominate a candidate with no chance of winning. Me, I'm registered Republican and will be voting for Mr. Perot, oops, I meant Mr. Paul. Sometimes I get mixed up, sorry.

6 months ago I would have agreed. A lot has changed since then and a lot of money has been raised. Paul is just NOW getting main stream media coverage.

If you only get your information from CNN, FauxNews, and CNBC then there is no need to discuss this because you are blind to the progress Dr. Paul has been making.

Rudy's past and affairs are going to haunt him once the mudslinging begins, Hucklebee is a Bible thumper (good for some poeple) but very liberal fiscally.

Paul really doesn't have any dirt and you can't find a more consistent voting record. I don't give a shit what comes out of a politician's mouth, I look at what they've done in the past.

That clip appears out of context, IMO... clip of him interviewed on FOX with his explanation does a good job to rebute. His website also has info that would prove otherwise. But I'll be looking for more info before I make a decision.

I have an idea for a fair tax calculator. If imports and outsources are taxed like cigarettes and tobacco we could all live free of tax or at least have great jobs.

Why will we tax a smoker or a drinker to death and allow corporations to blow off our people to get a cheaper workforce elsewhere? How come corporations can do almost anything they want and the government may even pay them extra to do it? Oh yea. They bought themselves politicians. I forgot never mind.
