  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
56' MOTOR YACHT (1981 - 1984)
Now that Tim Powell was kind enough to sic the local wolf on me for the hull survey, I was wondering if any of you has heard of a fellow named Wayne Hannaseck,
Anclote Diesel Specialists, he's driving up here to do a full two day survey. He is supposed to specialize in DD's.

For either survey, as long as the person is knowledgeable and fair, that's ok.

Try Ron Tomlin at Sarasota yacht services. He just finished an engine survey on on 871's for a client of mine. He has been working on DD's for over 30 years.
Phone is 941-726-0712.

No, this fellow is surveying my boat for a potential buyer. He's already halfway through the process, started yesterday. He is a Florida DD veteran now independent, does seem quite knowledgeable and fair. Personable and professional acting too. We'll see how it all turns out but so far so good. He's "doing the right things" like putting in all new fuel jumper tubes after running the compression tests.

Sounds great and best of luck. The engine survey can be a bit stressful for the seller. If the surveyor doesn't do things right you end up with an engine that's out of tune.

Also if the guy wants to take the engines to WOT for 10-15 minutes. Borders on abuse for these old engines. Good luck with the survey. I'm sure they will do fine. Stressful times I would have to say. If I was the buyer I would be stressed as well, just not as much.
