Electronic Ignition on Onan MCCK Gas Generator

I came across instructions on somewhat easily converting an Onan MCCK Gas Generator from pointed to electronic ignition using Onan parts. Does anyone have experience in whether this is a good idea or not?

I had a set of points go bad once on an old MCCK and it dorve me nuts til I figured it out since I spent all my time looking at the carb and/or governor. So...if you can do it I wouldn't see how it would hurt. It works great on Crusaders when you convert them.

I have a 4.0 mcck and would be interested in learning about this. Have see stuff on Ebay but it looked like all it was is a fancy condensor. Still used points just claims it you dont eat them up as fast. I wrote to Pertronix and asked them to research a real breakerless system but they never responded.

I think it would work well, but I can't find the parts as cheap as he did. I am still looking.
