Electrical motor for Lo-Boy Davit

My 45C have a Lo-Boy 600 electrical Davit and the motor was removed by the previous owner. I contacted MarQuipt and got the answer
"Lo-Boy 600 is an obsolete product and there are no winches or motors available due to the manufacturer discontinuing production. We also do not have a suitable replacement".

Have anybody replaced the motor with a compatible or have one for sale?

If the davit has a Warn winch in it, you may be able to get parts direct from Warn. They have discontinued manufacture of many complete winches but some parts are still available. The same problem is found in the older 600/ 800 Lb davits from other manufactures also.

if it is the electric end, just have it rebuilt at a electric motor repair shop

This issue have been on hold and I want to resolve it now.

Both the motor and winch was removed so there is nothing to repair. The power supply cable to the davit is 3X12AWG so it must have been a 120VAC motor. I tried to track the cable but lose track were I believe it goes into the engine room (see pictures). Anybody have an idea were the power supply comes from? There is no breaker on the 120VAC panel for the davit.

Searching on internet for a new winch, I could not find a suitable 120VAC but a 12VDC.

My doubt is, should I supply 12VDC from the engine room DC bar or install a 12VDC power supply behind the kitchen cabinet close to the Davit and connect it to AC power from a unused stove connection close? I appreciate your comments.

If you go to 12 volt make sure you run new wire bigger than 12 gauge, pretty big draw at 12 volts when lifting a dingy, depending on the length of the run you might need 8 guage. John

You don't want a freewheeling clutch on a davit motor. It should have a brake so you don't drop the dink.

Hey guys,This is a pretty old thread but I'm curious to know if the OP ever found a suitable replacement winch? I hace the exact same situation. The previous owner of my 45C removed the whole motor/winch assembly. I'd like to find a suitable replacement to use the same davit that is in good condition. Any suggestions?Thanks!JCG
