So I park or 58yf bow in and the ducks get much more brave as the season progresses. They decided my swim platform was an outhouse. I got tired of scrubbing and I have previously tried the rubber snakes and owls. So reading an online post I thought I'd try some small mousetraps. .. Well, this morning I see that two were set off last night, but no duck tirds. This may actually work. Hopefully the ducks will get the message and I won't have to leave them set up.

Wabbit season.

The classic answer to the duck problem is to scatter duck food on OTHER peoples' swim platforms. :)
You only have to do it a few times...

So nice of you to think of sharing the problem with un suspecting neighbors.

That's not a good idea down here. Either you or the ducks will be shot.

You're despicable. :p

I had the same problem one year. I put a small net across the transom and platform when I wasn't there. Worked well until one day they figured out they could easily get on and off from the sides

Whew, glad you told me. I'll be super careful when I bring my bag of Purina Duck Chow down there!
What's the name of your boat?

:)

It's the one with the 50 cal and without a swim platform

Cool - if you need some help setting the headspace and timing on that M2, I'm your man! :)

Mike, some day you might be included in "Other peoples boats". Unless you don't have a swim platform.

I must confess to being surprised that some folks took my duck food comment seriously. I meant the duck food thing as a joke. My next door neighbor at the marina, who has continuous duck difficulty, often says (tongue-in-cheek) that he is going to give that method a try. He can't figure out why the ducks enjoy his swim platform but not mine. I suggested that perhaps the ducks prefer Vikings to Hatteras'.

Uh...that's a joke too, I don't really know if ducks possess any boat brand preference and I apologize if I have offended any ducks or duck owners/keepers/fanciers.
