I have this recurring dream where I have my boat serviced at a yard with reasonable prices and mechanics that don't leave footprints from their last three oil changes on my white carpeting! And then the actual yard bill is similar to the repair estimate and everyone at this dreamy marina treats you civil and smiles! - Whoa, what a dream, heh?? Love those rum and Dr. Pepper's!

I know this is gonna sound like a dream, but it isn't. We found a yard exactly like you described last November in St. Augustine. I call it the "No Surprises Boatyard". Got in there (about 5pm)after being towed with severe vibration. They hauled us at exactly the time they said they would (first thing next morning). Found that they couln't fix the problem with the boat hanging on the travel lift. Blocked her and we were able to get aboard within 30 mins. Set us up to live aboard while the work was being performed. We sat with the yard manager, Shawn that same afternoon and got both a cost extimate and a time estimate. We informed him that we needed to be in Stuart within no longer than 6 days due to flight arrangements. He then revised his estimate of time, to fit our schedule. Advised us that if there was some work we wished to perform ourselves while the boat was on the hard, they premitted it, and said that although they didn't require us to make our supllies and parts purchases from them, we would find (which we did) that their prices were very competitive. We worked on the boat for two days and then rented a car to travel to Stuart to await the completion of the repairs. To our surprise, they called us up the next day and said "If you can be here tomorrow morning (Saturday) before 10:00 to pay up and get everything settled, we will launch you tomorrow before noon. This we did, and that they did.....two days early. Total cost for haul/block/launch, remove both props and both stub shafts, straighten shafts and computer scan props and reinstall was just over $2K....just as estimated. And talk about friendly...as we pulled out of the lift slip, my wife was standing on the pulpit, still hauling a couple of lines over the bow and the travel lift operator yelled "Bye Bye Girlfriend!!" Come to think back on it, that might be a little more than just "Friendly"? Anyway, we'd sure recommend them and below find their URL. Top Notch!!

Bad news travels so much faster than good news. Its GREAT to hear some good news for a change! Thanks Chapeaux!

Make it six or seven with the driving down the road dreams. I used to dream about driving down the mid cape highway on Cape Cod. I could clearly see the pavement being chopped up by the props and flung into the jerks trying to cut me off!!

The other dream used to be that i was cruising in cape cod bay headed for the canal, then someone shut the water off from the canal and the bay would drain out leaving me high and dry with the fish flopping around on the sand next to me.

ALWAYS LOTS OF DETAIL IN THE DREAMs....

No drugs, maybe some drinks, maybe fear???
