So, I read with interest all the accounts of underwater impact....then I went to bed last night and had a nightmare about it. I think I gotta stop!....no, not stop boating,....stop reading! :D

Maybe that should be the subject of a new thread. When I'm aboard, cruising, I never dream about boating, but when ashore, likely as not, if I dream, it is about boating. It used to be worse when I lived up North, because even though we put the boat on the hard each winter, I dreamed all winter about, not only cruising, but changing oil and all the other things we need to think about as boaters. Am I sick??...please tell me I'm not alone. It won't make me feel any better, but at least I'll know I'm not the only boat sicko around.

Ok, well I did a walk around on my runabout yesterday and when checking the I/O lower unit it made me recall a dream I had the night before. I dreamed that I woke up on our Hatt rocking on top a sandbar, I ran up to the helm to raise the lower drive units but couldn't find the switch anywhere..... Then it dawned on me, I had no way to raise the props... weird what we dream. I think I have Hatt fever.

Ok, ok, the one I had last night was really bazaar and long....but just the wierdest part was: Chapeaux! was aground in a tiny bay..couldn't get a tow in to pull her off. So, I looked up, and suddenly there was a boathouse roof over her. I climbed up into the rafters with the anchor, and after hooking it on, used the windlass to pull her off the bar. problem was, there she was hanging by her pulpit, fully vertical....then, and only then did I think about how much weight I had just hung on the rafters of a boathouse. So, I tried to let her down, but by then the windlass had jammed. You guessed it, she fell, pulling the boathouse down on top of her......but not before I was amazed that there were no fluids leaking from her, even though she was hanging by her bow, completely out of the water. After that, I don't recall what happened. Does anybody think I need a shrink??

It's after dreams like that, I wake up and again swear off of eating Thai food at dinnertime.

......Sometimes I wish I could blame them on recreational phamaceuticals!!.. .but I can't. They sem to be self-propelled.

I have a reoccurring dream, driving the boat down the street with just a little water, I know in the dream that the boat is going to be damages but we just keep going. oddly enough my younger brother has the same dream.

Mine is similar. I have had it for years. I am driving the boat down the road trying to keep it going forward fast enough so that she stays upright on her keel. I'm always affraid that if I slow down or stop she will fall over on her side and I will be stuck there. This thread is crazy.

In mine I'm running a SF from the tower, in a marina. I'm headed for a bulkhead and the boat won't stop.

LOL, since we live aboard, i dream about the kid falling over, being knocked down... and then try to come up with ways to childproof the boat :O . We are going to have the only kid safe Hatteras 40' DC on the market soon (but not for a few years yet LOL )

They say confession is good for the soul!! :o

Yes, I confess, we are looking at Larger Hatteras' now. But too many things are up in the air to jump yet. Though if we can about the time she turns 3 we will upgrade (2.75 years roundabouts). Thinking of a 5) something LRC or 53-61 MY or Convertible (newer models  )

My recurring dream involves several well endowed, long legged lovelies and a 60' convertible. The problem is, in the dream I never seem to play with them. They're always tending lines, waxing, cleaning or some other crew type duties. I turn 60 this year. I wonder if it's a sign of old age or am I losing my mind?

I always have dreams about coming into the dock slip at night after swording, and trying to slow down, then I wake up and tear my room apart, sleep walking looking for the gear shifts. Then i look out my window and see that im docked safely in my yard, then i wake up and wonder why I have crazy dreams about boating

This is too strange... I have a dream for many years -- that I am driving my father's former boat over land and in my dream I clearly know that this isn't "normal" yet I just keep going until I find water again?! Strange...

I blame the Captain Morgans... :p

Geesh, this thread is too frippin weird... Thats like 4 people that dream about driving their boats on land and balancing on the keel, where do we get an analysis's of this??? Rick

Dr. Phil..................

Your presence is needed :D

I do not own a Hatt: yet , but I do have a dream.

I dream of landing a job where I go in at 12pm, get off at 1pm and take an hour for lunch.....and get paid :D

How weird is driving a Roamer down the Stevenson expressway headed for downtown Chicago in rush hour bumper to bumper traffic at 60 mph and not being able to find the turn signal lever under the wheel ?? I know the lites work cause I just changed all the bulbs too...
Had that one at least a dozen times. Now it'll probably happen tonite too !!! ws

Paid lunches are a good thing Paul... ws

I still think I got the wierdest dream. How wierd is looking at your 53 YF hanging from the rafters of an imaginary boathouse by the anchor chain, like a prize billfish in Acapulco? Somebody, help me!

Yep similar dream boating in very skinney water. Never get stuck most of the time I can look back and see the mud/dirt/seweed/sand flying. But somhow the boat just continues on and I'm concerned but have an oh well attitude. LOL

So that's at least five or six with the same dream. We need professional help. :p
