Dockside water gauge

I have been using my dockside water hookup without any issues. I don't really understand how it all works with my Mach5 headhunter and Puffer tank. I was reading about the pressure regulator guage and whether of not I needed to turn off the headhunter when using dockside water. I went and found my guages and when I saw the pressure valve, I immediately switched back to using the freshwater tank with the headhunter. There are 2 pressure guages. There is one on the Mach5 that will usually read anywhere up to 75 psi. When I was hooked up to dockside water, it reads 75 psi. My question is, what an I looking at on the other gauge? I suspect a bad gauge.
Dock side water (utility) is usually around 40 to 50 PSI.

I agree. Bad gauges. However if they are correct you will be blowing hoses and old copper pipes soon. Mine are set at 50 PSI.

I have one of those restrictor connections for the dockside water hose because one marina in particular had such outrageous water pressure that it blew out fittings in my friends boat.

David, I am in Bradley Creek Marina, Wilmington and I installed a pressure regulator on my pedestal. You can adjust it to any desired pressure. I also found that the pedestal pressure ran close to 70 PSI. The pressure gage was not expensive and is used by a of RVs.
