I saw the boat in Charleston on the outside it needed re-finishing. That boat was made for the writer and explorer Carlton Mitchel by Hatteras when new (google if I spelled it right). He had the Std. round port hole in the galley upgraded to a Bomar opening hatch. A good thing I would guess. Also he had the pilot house fully open with no settee so he could install all his Radio Ham equipment and a chair. When Carlton died the boat sat in Columbia for years until a guy from Tampa bought it in 2000 and flipped it. I saw it when he got back to FL. I passed. Very rough shape including some hull trama of some sort to the transome (which my wife spotted bless her heart). She did come back to FL on her own power.
And here she is again.
I have stated several times before on boat re-storing . . . I may be an expert some day? Re-storable boats are generally worth less than half the value of a standard well-cared-for boat of the same kind. Check your broker and you'll find normal 48 LRCs are most likely selling around $200-225K. If its retorable, half or less. Then you get to add up what it needs and see if you end up fully re-stored at $200-225 or how much you be in the hole. I may be worth it.

The photos make this boat look pretty good. I think if you are in the market for one, it would be worth viewing, but from what is said above, I wonder if the photos look better than she does herself.

Oh my Jim...You are not even finished painting Blue Note and you're already looking for a replacement. The truth is that those 48 LRCs are very neat, but slow, boats. Just keep doing that awesome job on your current 36.
