  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
Not Currently A Hatteras Owner
Anyone out there see this or subscribe to it?
I saw it advertised in another magazine, maybe pasagemaker. Looks like a good idea, but don't know if it is any good.
I will look to see what the full name is, but it is something like "do it yourself boat owner".
Wondering if it is any good.

Yes, my daughter gave me a year subscribtion. It's pretty good. Only comes every couple of months.

D.I.Y. has been around since about 1995 mostly in Canada, also available in border states. Great magazine (IMHO) published quarterly with back issues available on CD. BoatUS bought it about a year ago. I have subscribed for 3 years and recently bought all the back issues on CD during a West marine (75% off) clearance sale.

DIY is the name, and it is very helpful for many of the projects you have been putting off because you were nervous about the proper proceedure.
These are things you can DO YOUR SELF, with a little help from someone that has done it before. Great magazine.

Hello Dustoff...

Is the CD still available for 75% off at WM? If not, would you be willing to make a copy?

Thanks,

Steve

Thanks for the advice SKY.
It sounds like a good one to get. Like PM, it might be the only other magazine that you can get useful info from that you would keep rather than toss when done.

I just tried to subscribe from that Boat/US link and it came back with an error. I emailed them to find out what the deal is. I'll let you know what happens.

I just went to the boat us website and checked it out. I haven't ordered yet, but I did see the multiple CDs available with "back issues" included to 1995. Seems pretty cool.
Anyone know if there is alot of overlap between the CDs? It seems the Better Boat and the other one near the top of the list at $99 are the best. The whole collection though is only 119. Not so bad if the info is good quality.

Appreciate the responses!

But I am confused...Are we talking $19.95 or more than $100 for the CD-ROM???

Steve

There is a collection of CDs available, about 6 I think, that cover multiple topics since 1995. Unless I misread it, that collection is 119. The CDs on individual yopics can be bought individually at a lower price each.
The subscription is 31 a year, and discounted to boat us members to 25 if I remember correctly.
Likely going to order at least the subscription later today.
