Your wrong It is they're fault because as you said they were living above they're means. Yes they are victims but not of the recession they are victims of they're own lack of preperation. When things were good they choose to have toys or to many kids or whatever. Now when things are bad they're asking government to conficate money from people that acted responsibly to bail them out. You keep screaming wait untill it happens to you then you'll see. You know what it won't happen to me because I'm prepared my priorities are straight I live within my means and save for a rainy day. I don't borrow money for cars or boats or any toys that I don't need I only have them if I can pay for them. I don't depend on others for my financial well being in good times or bad.

Lack of preparation? Your day will come Mister money bags. No one is exempt. Hows your health? Are you prepared? What heart attack, What cancer. Now one is prepared for long. I'm doing fine on 50% of my work pay. Of course now I just lost my life insurance, my dental plan, my eye glass plan. and in January I loose my health plan. $16,000. a year. When your retired and disabled you can't plan ahead. Our meds cost $800. a month. Have you planned for anything like this. No one likes to barrow. Do I sell my farm for 10 cents on the dollar just to pay my medical. I will make it but I sure as hell can't plan ahead in these times. What planet do you live on. You obviously have more money than you know what to with.

Even though your obviously a dam fool that doesn't understand much of anything I'll address your response. First you assume I'm "SCRUGE" When in fact I probably donate a hell of a lot more than you ever did and probably contribute a lot more revenue to the government than you ever did. How many people do you employ? To answer your question yes I am prepared for all the things you mention. When times were good instead of having to many kids or boats that I can't afford I put money away and purchased various different insurance policies to protect my future and the future of my family. And lastly no I'm not "lucky" I started out poor but un like you I didn't look to an employer and depend on him for my security. I built my own company put in the time and made the sacrifices. I did this because I didn't ever want to end up like you. Your simply paying the price for the bad decisions you made when you were younger. I feel bad for you but not bad enough to pick up the tab.

Medicare/caid has too big a market share for health care ever be called a free market. A free market is determined by what the market will bear not by what the gov thinks it is worth!
I would prefer to have Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security all transition to STATE RUN programs.

Why? Because it would fix 90% of the problems, including portability and similar. It will also never happen unless there is an armed revolution as the government ingrained all of these programs too far into the budget and political cycle, so you work with reality.

Politics is the art of the POSSIBLE, not the art of the dream.
