cutless bearings

Hi all, hopefully one of you is in the know.I have pressed out the old cutless bearings from my struts (46C, 2.5 inch shafts) and the new bearings can be put back in basically by hand, possibly a bit osf tapping with a hammer required. Should there be a closer tolerance fit or even a press fit? They have set screws, but I just dont know. Cheers

the fit you talked about is fine. just make sure you dimpel the bearings before you tighten the set screws.
