Hi All
Naturally this happens just before a big weekend for me. Looks like I burned up a cutlass bearing when a shaft zinc slid back. I thought I picked up a small piece of line on the way home over the weekend but over a 20 minute period, it turned into a big shake. The diver couldn't tell other than the zinc being back so we are assuming it's the bearing.
here is the problem. They can't haul the boat till Wednesday. If I have the bearing in hand, they can change it right away. If not, it has to be ordered which is cutting things really close for big plans Friday and Saturday nights.
I called Hatteras & left two messages but haven't heard back. Would anyone know what size was used? The shafts are 2-3/4" but I need to know the OD dimension & can't get it till the old bearing is out.

I have looked through all of the boat's build info and blueprints which have everything, even the shaft taper but nothing on bearings.
If you know this one, you are a life saver!!

Best,
David

I just spoke with Sam's & have found there were two types installed. Looks like there is no way to tell before the boat is hauled. UGH!

So get both sizes and return the wrong one. We do it all the time with our local supplier. We also let them know in advance just to be fair.
