You think your confused, me too. She definitely has 4 compressors, and 6 air handlers. I found all 4 control boxes, they have the information for stow away systems printed on them. I'm guessing that the dealer that did the install just used the BOXES but with the correct board? But who knows what they did. The more I look into it, the more I am considering filing suit. HORRIBLE work. The more I find out, the less happy I am. Thanks for the info. I'm going to simply let my guy do the work with new parts. He seems to know his shit and seems very trustworthy to me.
I guess it's possible that the dealer special ordered stuff to do the Q-Logic control retrofit kits for each air handler...And that is the only diagram the factory has for the Q-Logic control...So that's what they put inside the box...
The fact that you wanted Aux heat is lending itself to the Q-Logic control system...SMXII will do it but operation is a bit more confusing (No Aux heat light on the keypad/s)
The Cruisair parts book does not show a retrofit box for the Q-Logic control...Only for SMXII family which is a A-284 box...
My distributor does not stock Q-Logic stuff here in Central Fl, so the only experience I have with it is from school...We have no need for Aux heat down here because our seawater never gets below 55 degrees...Reverse cycle is good down to 40 degree water...
Still not sure why no Serial #'s and there should be at least a product # (not on that diagram, but on the outside of the cover for the box) I could look up a product number with my dealer access to the Dometic computer info...
They no longer show R-22 air handlers with Aux heat in the price book either...But they should have model, product, & serial numbers on the top side of each coil...Those were in production and are likely EBU or EBUH models "H" being for heat strip...Maybe even EBO or EBO----
They do show R-22/R417a air handlers with heat strip for the Modulating system since it is not offered in reverse cycle...Those models would start with EMHE or EHMB...But they would have solenoid valves to shut off refrigerant flow to each when the cabin gets to temp...This would not be good with a non-modulating condensing unit in the engine room unless the valves were wired to be open all the time...And they would cost more money than a standard air handler with aux heat...
You could also have separate Aux heat boxes that the discharge duct connects to, then continues out to the grill with strips inside that/those box/s...They will also have their own model, product & serial numbers...
You are doing the right thing to get the local guy out...He can be sure things are Kosher if he knows his stuff...He can also call the factory once he sees the system if he has any questions...At least he will know the right info to give them to get the right answers...
Still an interesting situation...Let us know what happens...I for one would like to know what you actually have, and without seeing it I'm just guessing...
