  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
61' MOTOR YACHT (1980 - 1985)
Hello all..., I need some advice....

I have asked a Ft. Lauderdale yard to quote the cost of fabrication of a 1 1/2" crossover insulation blanket for my exhausts (gray or silver, or black hardcoat lagging insulation). I have a 61', 1985, with 12/71's. They've quoted me $2,550. Also, I've asked them to quote the replacement of two 10" tank sections on the crossover risers (316L stainless steel), for which they've quoted $1,650. They're calling it "custom fabrication", and both estimates include labor and materials. I think these quotes are too expensive. Has anyone had any similar repairs made recently who could give me some advice, or does anyone know what cost is more realistic? Or am I just wrong in thinking the quotes are high?

Any help will be appreciated!
Thanks,
Paul

A few years ago I had the watercans replaced, then had the crossovers hard coated on a 1984 61. Cost was 3000.00. Two years ago I sent a pair off a 1985 45 C to have the cans replaced cost 1500.00 for the repair and 1600.00 for new blankets for the crossovers. For what ever reason they would not hardcoat them.
Call Great Southern Insulation or Marine Exhaust for prices.
I do not think the prices for yours are too far off.
