  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
53' EXTENDED DECKHOUSE (1983 - 1988)
After traveling this winter to FL, OH, KY among others, we ended up closing this week on a 1985 53 ED from right here in our marina. Very excited to start making her our own, and looking forward to the cruising season- even though currently it's snowing like crazy here in MD!

Wow! Great to have you back!

Cheryl, is this a boat I know? Just curious.

Glad to hear. Always enjoyed your posts and your hiatus was noticed!

Congrats !! Who did your surveys ?

Congratulations and welcome back.

We need pics!!! We need pics!! We need pics!!!

Good Choice :)

What's the hull # ?

Mine is 759. I know 760 is up here in the lakes and 739 is here as well. We have 3 1985 53 ED's in our marina. Just wondered where yours falls into the production for that year.

Congrats. We are hull 750.

I used your faucet choice and a bigger sink. Also added a cutout in the new counter for pots and pans. I think you sold just as we finished, but Thank You.
Just finished amtico in the salon and lower helm. lots of varnish going on inside and out getting ready for spring:cool:

Welcome back

Good morning and thanks to everyone for the kind words!

Here's the skinny:

Her name was Rodo Lisa, I believe it's hull #757. Steve Sanders did the survey.

You may have the last 53ED with 8v71's just before they started putting in the 6v92's.

Hull 750 has 6V92's.

I recall someone telling me years back that around the time of the changeover from 71s to 92s there were some folks who insisted on getting 71s; maybe the two engine installs overlapped for a while?

Ours has the 892s, each with 465HP I believe. Here are some pics where we are starting the salon refit- a before (1985 time capsule) and "during"...will post more as progress is made.

Ours was built in '84 but sold as an '85. I have the original bill of sale, but haven't looked at it in years.

Back when I lived in Panama City Beach, Fla. a close friend bought a new 1984 ED and as I recall he
paid somewhere in the 7 hundreds for it. That was before electronics etc.
