  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
53' MOTOR YACHT (1969 - 1988)
The clear screens on my aft deck on 53 my are damaged by chemicals running off the bridge deck I have tried all the cleaners to get rid of the marks to no avail
However when it rains they are perfectly clear Is there a coating l can put on to restore the screens
Tried Amoral but didn’t work

Clean off the armor all with mild soap and water. When completely dry, use Pledge furniture cleaner/polish on the clear curtains.

If it's just runoff from soap from the upper deck just take the windows down and clean them and use a wax remover for cars on them. That will remove the soap buildup. After that, if they're still cloudy from UV damage, then there are a handful of tricks you can use to extend their life, the pledge trick is one, they also make specific products like 303 aerospace makes a plastic polish that get out the haziness.

It's a temporary fix though, once you have to start down that road you have to redo it every few weeks for it to stay clear. When that happens I just have it replaced, they can sew new windows into your existing canvas and it's not that expensive. Then it stays clear for 5 years and you don't have to mess with it.

We've used 3M Finessit products and a buffer to extend enclosure life, but as already posted once you go down that route it's never ending. Clear vinyl has a life span and can only remain clear and pliable for a limited time as UV and various chemicals knock the crap out of it.
