  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
43' DOUBLE CABIN (1970 - 1984)
This question is for primarily the folks with 43 DC's. Both the main Salon and the master condensers are quite dirty and partially blocked by dirt, dust, crud etc. The PO removed the filters except for fwd vee berth.

How do you access these areas and what can you use to clean them properly? In my early groping it looks like access is the big issue so I am looking for someone who has maybe done it.

Home Depot and Lowes sells self cleaning spray coil cleaner. It is made for home window units. Follow the directions for "sit on" time and when you run the unit the condensation will clean the chemicals off the coil. It'll look like new.
 
Be careful with the cleaners intended for use outdoors. They may have fumes and run off that doesn't belong in a boat. I use this product purchased from a commercial AC house:

I assume you're talking about evaporators, not condensers.

My forward evaporator is under the stbd vee berth and the stateroom is inside the stbd built in cabinet.
