I was wondering if there any forum members around the Chesapeake, Great Bridge area?

Ish...
Just relocated the boat to Mobjack Bay area.

I know little about the area and am eager to grow my knowledge of the area and meet some forum members.

So far I think I have only ever met Pascal face to face when we were at Dinner Key at the same time.

were in Deltaville, somewhat close to you guys

I read that fast I thought it said “Cheapskate” forum members.

I'm located in Chesapeake, VA.

Michael: I’m going to be based out of AYB until next spring and have a few questions with respect to local knowledge.
1. I’m from Florida and wouldn’t dream of turning off the environmental systems between April - November. Do you find it necessary to run AC system to control indoor humidity over the summer months?
2. Any recommendations for someone to detail boat (75 CMY)?

Brett

Brett, my apologies for taking so long to respond. I haven't checked this thread in ages!

1. I have never run the A/C on dehumidifer mode and have only had one problem in the past 18 years. My wife recently pulled out a pair of shoes that were tucked down deep in the master SR closet and found them covered in a black mold. I think the A/C unit above them had been dripping for a while. We had a little drama but the shoes cleaned up easily.

2. Re the detailing inquiry. I recommend sending an email to Jimmy Reynolds at Salty Creek Marine (saltycreekmarine@msn.com). He has an employee who does an excellent job of cleaning - washing, waxing, etc.- at least one boat that I know of (a 90 ft yacht). If you have trouble reaching Jimmy, please let me know.

Regards,

Mike: Are you in Chesapeake proper? If so, my insurance carrier is insisting I retain someone local to pop in on boat occasionally. Any interest in earning a few bucks to poke around boats?
Interestingly enough, they will not let a yard employee fulfill the role; go figure.. Brett

Sorry I did not see your note earlier. Yes, I may be interested in checking your boat(s). Give me a call sometime at 757-672-4753.
