Caterpillar 3208 support

I had a call from a friend in Ft Lauderdale last night about a boat he likes that has Caterpillar 3208s D profiles and wanted to know about them. I told him that they stopped making them about 1999, I think I am right on that, but there is still plenty of support out there for them. I also told him to me they'd be a plus in the trawler he is looking at, 275hp in a 60 foot Grand Alaskan.

I like the 3208s, had them in a boat years ago and they gave me excellent service. Anyone else like them?

I’ve had absolutely no problems with mine. They fire right up, no smoke, and run smooth.

You'll probably get a much shorter list if you ask who doesn't like them.

As long as they're under 400 HP and properly maintained they tend to just run and run and run. Never ran into a problem getting parts either.
