I'm in the process of painting my 1970 45C. I did the majority of the sanding in the fall and spring and am planning on painting the rubrail up while in the water this summer and the hull while hauled in the fall or spring. would have done the painting while in the yard, but the marina owner and I had a slight difference of opinion. I'm using Interlux Perfection paint ... very good stuff. Problem is, it only comes in half gallons and at $105 per half gal..
Well, it doesn't take a genius to realize that this puppy is gonna take a lot of paint. I'm kinda locked into the "Perfection" for the rubrail up, but for the hull, would like to get gallons and hopefully at a slightly better price.
Does anyone know where you can get paint at a discount of sorts ?
Is Awlgrip or Imron or Sterling available in bulk and any less expensive ?
I will say though ... as a "do it yourselfer" the Perfection has gotten me results better than anticipated and seems to be hard as nails.
