Sage advice IMHO. Plus, since its a donation boat, it's available with terms over 3 years with no interest.

As was the case with my Alaskan cruise, I would much rather do it in a smaller boat.Only way to do the BVI is on a small boat that can get into all of the mooring fields. Charters there are prevalent and a fun way to spend a week or two.

Given what I learned, it wasn’t worth the trip.Why not just go and look at it and make an appropriate lower offer? And while up in the area, look at other boats, ahem I mean yachts.
