NC businessman acquires Albemarle Boats

Eastern North Carolina native and Raleigh resident Scott McLaughlin has purchased Albemarle Boats from the Brunswick Corporation. McLaughlin says he plans to keep the current management team intact and continue the company's 31-year tradition of boat building.
"Our focus is on building great boats, providing exemplary customer service, and on maintaining the tradition of Eastern North Carolina boat building," said McLaughlin. "Burch Perry, grandson of Albemarle founder Scott Harrell, will stay at the helm as the Vice President and General Manager."
Perry added, "The Albemarle management team is more energized and committed to our product and our customers than ever before. This shift from corporate to private ownership will provide certain advantages. We are excited about our new ownership and look forward to what the future holds for Albemarle Boats."
