  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
68' MOTOR YACHT (1987 - 1987)
Has anyone had any experience with this marina? I have read some reviews online and they all seem to be great but I was wondering if anyone from hear has had any dealings with them? Their website is www[dot]BrunswickLandingMarina[dot]com

They claim:

Brunswick Landing Marina is a new facility located five miles from the ICW with deep water channel access. The marina has state-of-the-art concrete floating docks with 314 slips and can accommodate vessels up to 250 feet. Located in a very sheltered deep water harbor with no tidal current, the marina has modern tile showers, multiple free laundry rooms, recreation rooms with air-conditioning and cable TV. The full service repair facility, just up the creek from the marina, has a 50 ton lift and extensive capacity to repair and maintain your vessel. The management is in the process of developing the 24 acres adjacent to the marina with restaurants, lounges, a hotel, retail space and offices.
Brunswick Landing Marina is located in Historic Downtown Brunswick shopping district. This historic seaport town was founded in 1771 and is full of history. The area has an English Fort, anti bellum plantation ruins and Victorian houses. Also within walking distance of the marina are shops, resturants, and governmental services.
Transients are welcome and every effort will be extended to make your stay pleasant.

o've heard good things although i've never stopped there. I'm sure you'll get some feedback though.

www.activecaptain.com is a very useful site and has reviews of marinas, anchorages, etc...

I just left from there. Other than a little bit of attitude from one of the lady's I would say it is a well run honest operation. If your boat is over 50 feet you might be put in a slip that is too small. Also the county is very diligent in seeing what boats stay over 6 months (????) so they can get there property tax. It is relatively inexpensive and is considered an excellent hurricane hole that is very close to the FL border. The barnicles and fouling is very aggresive but there is an excellent diver that charges I think 2.00/ft and will come once a month. The water is deep in the marina and the approach to the marina. It is not that pretty at the marina and downtown Brunswick is not as nice as some of the other small coastal southern towns. It is very convenient to 95. I had no experience with the yard. Respond back if I have not answered your question.

We have stayed there several times and have a much more positive view than motoryacht lover. We have always been put on a T-head. The on shore facilities, especially the lounge and showers mid-marina are excellent. You are right at downtown Brunswick and several good-to-very good restaurants are in walking distance, We especially like Cargo Portside Grill, great gourmet food with a slight Asian tinge to many of the dishes.

Sherry may seem a little gruff sometimes, but she and her crew have been very helpful, adept and knowledgeable. This is one of the few places we try to plan a stop at each trip if we can fit it in at all. We are not big on staying at marinas, preferring to anchor out, but we like this one.

By the way, one of the best fuel stops on the ICW is the Ocean Petroleum commercial dock right on the way in to here. Excellent prices and fresh fuel; they will not pump the last 150 gallons out of their tanks, so call ahead.

I need to stop there if I ever make another trip from NJ to FL. How far off the ICW is it? Brunswick, Ga., would be a trip down memory lane for me as I was stationed there at NAS Glenco on Rt 17 during the late 50's. I understand the Naval station is no longer there, but it was quite a place in it's day. It was home to a fighter squadron and the CIC school for Naval Officers. At the time I couldn't wait to get back north. Short sighted youth I guess, but I have many pleasant memories of the area. We had lots of staff parties across the causeway to St. Simons and Jeykyl islands.

From what I hear, it is also owned by a disabled veteran too. A nice touch I thought.

It's about 5 miles to the ICW Walt. I hadn't heard that about the owner, only people I've met are the all girl crew.

I would also suggest Golden Isles Marina at St Simons(Morningstar). The facilities are excellent, good resturant, fuel price ok, close to the waterway, and the staff is very anixous to please. They have a new manager, Chris, and he is on the docks frenquently. They have a free courtsey car for transits and everything is close including WM and other retail services. Scenery is great plus you can visit with me and listen to our boater BS. Chick and Melissa are the Docks Masters. They are very friendly and accomodating. St Simons culture is accomodating to the visiting yachtsman.

Golden Isles is indeed very nice, but we prefer being able to walk into town. If we were going to live aboard for months at a time with our car there, it would be a definite consideration, perhaps the preferred one, since it is closer to the beach and the various nice upscale shops and amenities on St. Simons.

I like Golden Isles as well but I would be concerned about leaving the boat there during a significant storm. It seems to me to be pretty exposed. Also I would imagine it to be significantly more expensive.
