UPDATE!!!!!
After 10 days and I cant even begin to count how many calls and e-mails to different people Mcdoanlds has FINALLY RAISED THE AMERICAN FLAG to the proper height!!!!
I still will not patronize that McDonalds. What has transpired this past week and a half is a disgrace to the American people, our country and to me. I WILL NOT reward them by spending my money at that store.

speaking of Flag folding, is it just something done by the military is is is also the proper way of storing the flag at night?

I've often wondered about taht, somehow just rolling the flag along the pole and leaving it outside doesn't feel right.

The flag should be folded correctly at ALL times whenever remove from the standard. The flag can be left out at night if it is properly ILLUMINATED. I am surprised how many guys flunked CIVICS class in grade school. Ya'll mustve cut school and cruised McDonalds!! ws

The now cute, standard display of the flag in parades and football and other stadiums, i.e. carrying the flag on the horizontal is verboten, according to my official flag etiquette book; but what the hey, no one cares. Trav, no reason was given. We got 2 responses from Corp. that they would notify store owner but never heard from the owner. I guess he/she thought it wasn't important enough. When his sales go WAY down he probably won't have a clue. I notified the American Legion that I am a member of, plus the National American Legion.,also the CFA (citizens flag alliance), plus a member of the HOF has a friend high up on Mcdonalds rung....we shall see!!!! ppat

Most of the people who are smart enough to understand why to boycott them are smart enough to avoid them already. If everyone on this site adds up the amount spent at Mcdeath in a year I bet we barely get enough to fill a car's gas tank.

Do you really think they give a rats butt? I quit McDonalds years a go when a customer reported their breakfast sandwich contained human feces.

On that same subject...

My kid once found a maggot in his happy meal french fries, dead but not crispy. That shook him up pretty bad. Those fries must have been cooked and left out for quite some time from the size of that maggot. The microwave must have killed it.

I called Corp. They said they'd let the store manager know. Nothing else.

I have found out that you must continuely complain to Corp about problems. They (the same store) screwed up an order for sweet teas(the only thing we buy from them) several months ago...it took them 2 months to straighten it out and make amends. Free sweet teas for a month. I have gone as far as I choose to on this! I was able to get the flag flying high and proud again... thats all I wanted!!!
But I will not step foot or vechicle on that property again-ever!!!!


I would be VERY interested in if mcdonalds is still American owned...if anyone finds out please post it here. I know that the Corporate office is still in Oak Brook, IL but that means nothing now a days. ppat
