Bow thruster value

Greetings ALL,

Does or would a bow thruster add value to a boat and is there a way to calculate that.

We are wondering if it adds value, how much.

The reality is we are going to end up with one but the discussion is ongoing with my bride. For discussion purposes lets use top quality electric equipment professionally installed.

IMHO - A thruster may help your boat sell before another boat without one. As far as actual value? Not much.

The other consideration is how a thruster will minimize the times the hull impacts the dock. One good smash at the City Marina usually does $10k minimum damage. So call it a preventative measure.

With both engines in good shape and running I do not think it has value, but once your one engine packs up and you are returning back to your slip with one only, is the time you would wish you had that BT.....
