Hi Everyone

I've got another 3 weeks of waiting ... so in the meantime thought I would introduce myself and say Hi.

Have a new GT 54 just built and on the way to Australia. She missed Hurricane Sandy by 6 hours ... through the Panama canal yesterday.

She is my first Hatteras and I have been mighty impressed during the build. Wonderful boat and wonderful people.

Cheers
Nigel

Capndan, the weatherboards forward on the rail look interesting. can you post other pictures showing a full view of the bow/weatherboards? Looks great!!

Mario
The weatherboards were put on by the PO as a safety measure for their small children and pet. They also do a good job keeping the spray off the boat.

Hi All,

Dan, Mario....I like the look as well......

Dan, any impact on field of view.....?

With the enclosed flybridge with A/C and heat all driving is done from there so in this application no. There is minor view obstruction with anything close to the bow from the lower helm. The biggest issue for galley down boats would be the blocked view from that area. We have a office and state room instead of the galley there so its not a negative for us. It does hide deck boxes and fenders which cleans the exterior view up. They make the boat look bigger and they flow very well into the aft area. The biggest plus is the increased safety for small children and pets.

Dan, I think it looks great!! gives it an impressive "ship" look. Love it! I wonder what my YF would look like with weatherboards up front? Hmm

You did good, Ben! I never get tired of looking at Hatts... except for mine sitting at the dock. :(

My toy, Pic taken 12/22/2011 just after the trip to my marina 144 mi on 12-21-2011 8hr running time. Shortest day of the year. Kinda small compared to you gents and gals. I'm happy
