Boarding Step Across

I’m looking for a boarding step across with 19” spacing for the pin mounts. Marquipt, YRM and UMT currently make them but was hoping to find a used one.

I have this 7 stepper which will work on fixed or floating docks. 19” width between pins/brackets

I have an 8 step and I’m tired of removing and installing them each time we go for a ride. No dock queen here. Planning on permanent steps but my wife hates the gap hence the step across.

I thought across was referring to the width across the frames … a “step across” is basically the top step of a sea stair with the bracket to keep it horizontal, right?

That’s exactly what it is, just wider then the stair treads port to starboard not bow to stern. YRM is about $1800, UMT is $1500 and who knows what Marquipt is charging, they don’t answer their phone and their web site is down. That and they have deplorable customer service. If I have to buy new I will but…

I was a bit confused myself. Didn't know these existed. Hope you find one without the high dollar price tag.

Is a step across the same as a gangplank ?

No, the step across is really one step that is a bit wider, typically 17-18” wide, port to starboard. It attaches to the same mounts the sea stairs or sea ladder. My wife doesn’t like to step over the gap between the dock and the boat. I’m tired of the exercise in removing the railings and the stairs and reinstalling them every time we take the boat out. I plan to have a permanent set of stairs on the dock but there will be roughly a 20” gap and that’s what the step across is for. It basically hides the gap.
