Anyone have a recommendation for a good thread for building a fb enclosure? Preferably high UV resistance.

Are you looking for sun and rain protection?

Teflon will last longest but is prone to leaks in the stitches.

Profilen. Sailrite has it. Tenara is great (in theory), if you can get your machine to sew with it and not skip so many stitches that you do nothing more than perforate your fabric. I had canvas over 10 years old and the Profilen was good as new. It will outlast the canvas and zippers.

I don't sew but I had all of mine done with Tenara. Maybe he has a special machine.

Thanks for all the recommendations. We wound up selecting Sailrite PTFE Lifetime. Not quite as heavy as the Tenara.

Bob are you sewing it yourself? If so investing in a sail rite machine will be worth your while. I’ve done my own canvas and upholstery work for years. Started on a home sewing machine but the whole game changed when I got a sailrite. The walking foot makes everything line up and sew better.

That’s Profilen. You’ll like it.

My brother has a professional machine and has been practicing for about a year. This will be his first enclosure, but it is fairly straightforward. No bends or curves just rectangles for the most part.
