The recommended SAE-API Class CC oil is long obsolete. Delo 100 offers CF-2 and Delo 400 SJ levels of performance and protection. The newer oils have seemingly attractive verbiage such as "enhanced protection against oil oxidation, viscosity loss due to shear, oil aeration and engine wear". Would anyone know if there's a better overall oil to use in Twin Disc Gears? Thanks, Craig

If not mistaken, Twin Disc calls for a TO-2 oil. Take a look at the Caterpillar TDTO (TO-4) oil. That what they recommend for all of their transmissions and drives with clutches. It meets the requirements for TO-2.

I used it in the TD506 transmissions on my 36C with no problems.

Thanks for your input, I now see CAT TDTO TO-4 30w would definitely fill the bill. Hard to come by in my area (nearest dealer shows one gal in stock) I'll go with a Chevron equivalent. http://www.chevronlubricants.com/en...rive-train-fluids-hd1.html#.WLyEqZI76f0Thanks, Craig
