  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
34' CONVERTIBLE (1965 - 1969)
Well Bertram 31.com http://bertram31.com/newbb/index.php? is doing a Montauk rendezvous at the Yacht Club August 3-5. They have graciously opened the Invite to any Hatts. They all seem like a bunch of nice guys & Gals and don't even seen to mind us calling their boats RLDT's :D so they have a great sense of humor. They usually have a pretty good turn out and have a great time.
So myself and Tim "Hunshatt" have signed up anyone else want to join us.
They are trying to get a boat count ASAP because the Y.C is pushing them for a # so come on out to Montauk

should be a hoot. Every one of the get togethers these guys do are awesome.
If the xpress41 project isn't in floating form, I'm going to be looking to crew for someone. Anybody need a middle aged, over weight white guy with no talent to run the reel?? no no, not me, figured we'd fly badbird in for a guest apperance. See if he could horrify the bert guys like he seems to have done to the Hatt crowd

If you realy want to scare them tell them he is looking to buy one and join the group.

FWIW he's not that overweight.

I bet he wins the Goose consumtion division though.

that would go over like a lead ballon, or a fa*t in church

I knew he wasn't chubby, just like to tease him about it.

aaaahhhhh .... "chubby" aint so bad ..... and sobriety aint all it's cracked up to be either !!
As for the 31 rondayvoo (sp) ... I'm nearby and will catch some either by land or by sea, but not on the sunday. Because .... seriousy, there is (has been for the past 15 yrs) a GREAT boat party very close to there each year (location moves), but this is a worth catching event. Details (seatails) will follow as the date gets closer.
To get an idea of thi sevent, see www.nancyatlas.com (great Montauk and florida songstress) and look at the picture titled "regatta".

I know the one you are talking about was there for a little while last year. It starts in the afternoon on Sundays. This will happen on Friday and Saturday and you could be out of there Sunday morning. Maybe we can just get a bunch of boats to go from one Party to the Next

Is the party the concert/regatta that was held last year by Cedar just east of Sag Harbor? Any idea where it may be this season.

Hey Tim sounds like you have to bring Joe because with you and me that's not GOOD enough

I'll let Joe know. He'll probably run that claped out black fin if it's still in Ct. He's looking to sell it and up grade to a 40' er.
Mark best part of a bert is thier so wet, they self clean all my puke.

So the plan is to ,move the party on Sun? Looks like I'll hav eto make the run home Mon then.

Bertamp, she's cute. Any radio play stuff?

Boat party is the first sunday in August every year (except one year it had to be moved because the prior year was so out of control). I go every year. The guy that throws it is a good buddy of mine. All of the pictures labeled "regatta" or the likes are from the party in different years.
Nancy Atlas usually plays as do about 3 or 4 other bands .... it's an all day affair. I plan to anchor out and stay the night this year, so that I can get as "toastie" as all of the folks on my boat usually do (tired of being the DD for this party. :D

She plays a ton all over the east end in the summers and was/is the official "Winn Dixie" girl in Fla..
No real air play, but a few CDs out.

O.K sounds like you definitely have better Inside Info since I only know someone who Knows someone  .
Would it work out If we left Montauk Sunday morning and went straight there. I know last year it was like 1:30 when I went out there and it was already packed what time do you get there???
Thanks Dan

It all depends on where the party is and how it's being done.
It was on a big workboat one year and in deeper water ... so I followed the boat out at about noon.
Last year it was on a small spud barge that went out the nite before, but the water was shallow by the barge, so early was not as important, as I couldn't get close anyway.
If I take the boat to Montauk for the 31 rendezvous, I'll be outta there early (like 9or10) to be at the party by 11.
I'll keep you informed as to where and when it is. I usually am on the "partyboat" decorating committee (which in reality is just an excuse for the "usual suspects" to start partying the day before).

One party a few yrs back, I was the coener boat for the roped off "swim/no prop" area that is at the stage. I remember pouring chilled Cuervo Gold into people's mouths as the floated by on rafts and inner tubes.

The party can get ugly :D

Dan just reread Marks post, guess acouple of Hatt guys really arent good enough. do we need to an even less quality boat guy along to the bert thing???
