It has taken many years. Not many MAN tech around Jax. I have had to jump on some issues my self for some better customers.
Years later, I luv MAN equipment. It is a different world of equipment but dam good stuff.
AND, your there in the hood with them.
Meanwhile, some of our customers still travel looking for honest MAN shops and hold their shorts tight.
Here in the states re-power less than 600 HP is Cummins, some Yanmar and over 600 HP is Cat.
I dream of R600s in my Bertram one day,,,,, when that big lotto ticket comes in.

You have a ship that I will envy. Have fun fixing the last little things and stay safe.

About engines and shafts...

I got 800mm (about 31,5inch) 4 bladed high skew props with about 85% coverage of the full circle, didn´t find out the pitch yet. They were custom made by Schaffran, a german specialist who also delivers to the German Navy and US Coast Guard.
Shafts are 75mm which should be about the metric equivalent to 3 inches.

With the MAN engines the boat did 21kts during the sea trial with 200l/h or 55gallonss/h. At 18kts cruise the fuel consumption is about 35-40% lower.

I guess the boat could be slightly faster, but the trim tabs need some attention and the stabilizer fins (KoopNautic system) produce quite a bit of drag.

For now I´m in Italy to do a full paintjob of hull and superstructure. Howerver, i guess I´ll leave out the upper deck for now as there are a few things i want to change first. I´d like to get rid of the electric davit which is aesthetically too dominant (huge beast and the arm doesn´t fold down) and the only piece of 110V equipment aboard (actually mixed since the winch is 110V while the rotating mechanism is 230V)

I´ve got a feeling that there are some projects with a good cleanup of the DC electrics ahead as well...

Also haven´t found out how to get the fresh water system and the toilets running and have no idea so far where the shower drain pumps are located...

First coat of paint is just for training my paint dealer said...
I´m just glad old Mr. Hargrave did that edge from about 2/3 of the hull height. Else it would be impossibel to do the whole heigth of the hull here in italan summer. But so it allowes me to paint from waterline up to that edge and do the upper part later. Oyster white mixed by Epifanes, 2K paint. It´s just a pleasure to work with, just rolling without tipping with a brush. My paint dealer told me to do three coats, but i guess i might get away with just two. We´ll see... :D
