I was previously insured with BoatUS forever. I left about 2 years ago when Geico took over because no one could explain a confusing navigational limit. Tried Geico again this week and received a great quote with an agreed value from Jan 2017 survey which Geico accepted. I sent recent photos (my 53 year old Hatteras is beautiful) I sent recent photos taken 2 days ago. All good until I wanted to take a few minutes to review the coverage sent by e-mail. There was a real push for me to pay on the phone right then. I called back 20 minutes later to confirm and pay in full. In that 20 minutes the agreed value coverage mysteriously dropped by 15%. PRETTY SLEAZY GEICO. You will NEVER fill BoatUS' shoes.
 
I kind of wish my agreed value was lower, then the premium would be lower.:)
 
A #BoatUS representative Nico Rafuse called me this morning and was willing to reverse the drop in coverage back to the survey value. He stated that the representative I spoke to last evening when I called back wasn't aware that #Geico already had my survey and had accepted it. This was a lie, as that representative referenced the fact that my survey was more than 2 years old and therefore the reduction in agreed value. IMHO the reduction in agreed value was a punitive move on their part because I wanted to take a few minutes to review their written quote prior to paying in full. I don't do well with strong arm tactics. There is no better explanation that I can point to. Sleazy, unprofessional behavior in my opinion.
 
I have had BUS INS since the 70'. Never a claim . I have a Chris Craft Commander. I just wanted to get liabilty contract
get a liability contract.
They insisted on a full survey . I called Progressive and got what i needed .
 
They are all a mess. I'm probably going to just go to liability only soon.

I tried to go with just liability and they would not allow it.

Not this year. I would want a new survey done that shows all the work that has been done before I looked.
