I owned a 1967 version of this boat. They are definitely built like a fiberglass tank. At the same time beware of both the 120 volt and 12 volt electrical system. They are a terrible. From the design, to the wire and components used, to the actual installation, it is something less than you would expect on a Hatteras. At the same time, you do need to keep in mind that these boats were built 40 plus years ago. Also, the air conditioning in the boat is inadequate. It runs off one 120 volt 30 amp supply, and that is just not enough power to air condition that size boat. Mine had two 16K BTU units. To my thinking the 43 was a step forward by Hatteras in the overall systems quality, although the hulls are somewhat thinner.
