  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
Not Currently A Hatteras Owner
I found a GPS that I would like to buy from a guy that does not do Ebay or Paypal, so I need to have someone meet him in person to give the money and get the GPS for me, then ship the GPS to me. He lives about 20 minutes outside of Charlotte, NC and he will drive up to an hour to meet someone. I would pay $100 for your trouble.

Anybody?

Thanks!

I live in Charlotte. My business is located in SW Charlotte in Westinghouse Industrial Park (I-77 at SC line) if that is convenient for him.

I may be headed that way in a week or two. Send me the cash up front (all of it), and I'll see what I can do. Be sure to send enough to cover shipping and insurance.

Joe, That sounds perfect. The guy witht he GPS is on the other side of Gastonia from you so I could have him bring the GPS to you tomorrow afternoon. I sent you a PM so that we can make arrangements or you can email me direct at vrmmm@aol.com. THANK YOU! :)

Randy, I sure appreciate the offer but hopefully Joe who responded above should be able to take care of this for me. The guy with the GPS is constantly traveling for work and will only be in town tomorrow through the weekend, so coordinating his schedule with when you may be going through in a week or two would probably be difficult.

Once again, thank you for the offer. It sure would have been interesting to cut you loose with four figures of cash and see what happened! ;)

Naw, I wouldn't go through this much trouble just for a $1k GPS. "Four figures" is a polite way of saying anywhere from $1,000 to $9,999. This one falls somewhere in the middle because it is one of the new large screen/touch screen GPS units, new in the box. I just love the reliability of dedicated marine multifunction displays and I want a completely separate, backup/redundant system for the boat.

Seriously though, thanks for the offer to help. :)

I would like to give a big THANK YOU to HOF member Joe Wheeler. Although we have never met or spoken before I posted this thread, he stepped up and offered to facilitate the purchase of a chartplotter for me from a 3rd party. He did not have to do this, but he generously offered to help me to verify that the seller did in fact have a new-in-box GPS for sale before the funds changed hands. Joe had my GPS shipped out to me the same day! He is such a gentleman that he would not even accept the $100 that I offered to pay for his inconvenience!

I have since received the chartplotter and it is exactly as I had hoped. Usually when you see a price that is less than half of MSRP on a popular chartplotter new in box, it is too good to be true. This was one of those rare occasions where it was not, it was a divorce sale. Sometimes you just get lucky!

Joe, if there is ever anything that I can do for you please do not hesitate to let me know. It would be my pleasure.

THANK YOU JOE WHEELER and THANK YOU SAM'S MARINE!!! :)
