Gooz Boy,

I'm still waiting for word from my mechanic on my oil gobbling starboard. He thinks I have a couple of pistons with stuck rings, but some bastard stole his borescope and he's waiting on another one.

Columbus Day still seems to be the next big outing on the agenda. If I'm not up and running by then, maybe Pat and I can bum a ride with you and buy you some fuel. He's supposed to be up and running by then, but he's afraid to go that far first time out (wuss!).

I'll keep in touch, you do the same.

houston, tx.... boating all year round.... love it. only about 2 or 3 months you really can't swim... and even thats only every few years... no blues here we have good fishing year round... sorry yanks :D :D :D

What thred are you guys highjacking today??? I guess it's this one but if you got the boating blues than I guess it's ok. I got out Sunday on the boat and didn't do anything to the blowers yet and she ran fine but I didn't push her over 1800 rpm but I usually cruies at 1200 rpm any-way so the question is to fix or not to fix that is the 200 mile question before Columbus Day rolls around??

Help! I've got the blues now. :( :( :( The yard just called and moved up my haulout date from 10/12 to 10/3. It has been cold and rainy here in MI and I thought that this wouldn't really matter much since the boating season is almost over anyway, but now it is starting to sink in. Well, I guess I'll get one last run in this weekend no matter what the weather. Of course, that will just make me feel worse as I think about it being the last time for a few months.

The only thing I can do now is start to get all of those supplies and parts necessary for those off season projects. And......think about spring.

The blues are coming here....low temps now dropping into the fifties, with one night of 44 predicted already.

The good news is there is a window of time that we're entering where anchoring out is down right pleasant. The engines keep the boat warm enough that you can sleep with the windows open, and a light blanket.

The bad news is I'm going to have to start wearing socks again..... :(

Yea, I'll use the boat through the winter.....but I'll have to wear socks.

Yes I feel your pain! I put sox on today too! Saw all the antifreeze stocked up at Worst M. and got that sinking feeling! Well I'll hang in there in NY till Mid Nov weather permitting!!

Haul the boat, spend the next 8 weeks until Christmas doing all the waxing, varnishing and fixing you need to and by then your "blues" will be all gone and you will be glad the season is over. When it's spring, you will be ready to go and glad you got your work done early. Works for me here in MI.
