If anyone has an old fiberglass antenna that's beginning to get fuzzy due to age and the protective coating wearing off ... here's what Shakespeare says to do. Lightly sand the antenna to remove the fiberglass fuzz. Wipe down to remove the fuzz. Then paint with several coats of deck enamel or clear polyurethane. I did this today on two of my older antenna. I drilled a couple holes in an old 4x4 to hold the antenna ... sanded ... put on four coats of white deck enamel ... then reinstalled. (Fine sandpaper and a foam brush) There appears to be no difference in reception or broadcast. Oh ... don't forget to use latex gloves to prevent the fiberglass from getting into your pores.
