Annapolis boat show

I have a bunch of air miles burning a hole in my pocket and we are thinking about an East coast trip next Oct. wanted to know from you guys if the Annapolis power boat show is worth seeing or are there any other shows aside from the Florida shows that we should consider. Not planning on buying a new boat, just like to look. Thanks, John

Annapolis is good. 2nd to only Ft. Lauderdale, in my opinion.

My fav is Palm Beach in the Spring. It's a manageable sized show and has more of the kinds of boats that I like.

We like the Annapolis show probably because we love the city of Annapolis. Very rich history and a great place to walk around town and visit lots of buildings that date back to the early days of our country. Oh, we also like the show and it's only a 3 hour drive for us.

I would skip the Annapolis show and go to FL. I go to the Annapolis show every year because I live here, and it is easy, but one of these days I will go to a real boat show- FLIBS or Palm Beach. And see a lot more of the kind of boats I like to look at.

So why everyone is talking about boot shows. How is the Miami show? I don't mean to hijack the conversation

I've been to Annapolis and I don't think it was worth the 1-2hour drive. I definetly wouldn't fly to it. No used boats, not that huge, very few equipment vendors or aftermarket stuff. This was a few years ago during the slump, though.

I'd say Newport, RI should make the list. Also a great place to visit, lots of yachting history, plenty of entertainment, restaurants, shopping.
